Polyamory Organizations

Loving More is the premiere nonprofit serving the polyamory and ethical non-monogamy community since 1985. Through education, activism, and media awareness we support polyamorous people and families.

Loving More started out as PEP Talk Newsletter (Polyamory Education Primer) and in 1994 became Loving More Magazine. The printed magazine featured articles from people deeply involved in the polyamorous relationship style focusing on issues such as jealousy, compersion, communication, family, sexuality and social stigma. Due to the increasing costs of printing, in 2009 the magazine become Loving More online magazine. The change has allowed us to offer articles available free to the public, providing valuable information to a broader range of people around the world.

The Loving More Website offers extensive information on polyamory including educational webinars, articles, terminology, FAQ, links, professional listings, and is a portal through our links to local, national and international groups/organizations about or related to polyamorous issues.

For over 30 years the Loving More® organization has sponsored annual polyamory conferences, retreats, and educational events. These educational efforts have now grown to include two hotel conferences known as Poly Living, Loving More Retreats, and the Loving Choices one-day seminars around the country. Loving More also sponsors classes, workshops, webinars, and Loving More Chapter groups.

In addition to the website, conferences, and magazine, Loving More Nonprofit works to raise media awareness through press releases and media outreach. We respond to issues in the news, maintain a list of polyamorous people willing to talk to the press, and are available for interviews answering questions from the press on an ongoing basis.

The Polyamory Society is a nonprofit organization which promotes and supports the interest of individuals of multipartner relationships and families. Currently the Society provides information and is building membership. This page is a general outline of what we would like to see provided to Polyamorists and their families. The Society welcomes input and participation. So take a look around and send e-mail if you have any comments. Also e-mail us if you have a service or information to provide or would like to join.

UUPA has as its mission to serve the Unitarian Universalist Association and the community of polyamorous people within and outside the UUA by providing support, promoting education, and encouraging spiritual wholeness regarding polyamory. Mostly, this means offering education, literature and having conversations.

As a service to the larger faith community, UUPA also welcomes inquiries from and conversation with any person, religious institution, or educational institution of any faith, as time and resources permit, concerning polyamory as it relates to religion, and faith.

Legal Resources for Open Relationships

National Coalition for Sexual Freedom

The NCSF is committed to creating a political, legal and social environment in the US that advances equal rights for consenting adults who engage in alternative sexual and relationship expressions. The NCSF aims to advance the rights of, and advocate for consenting adults in the BDSM-Leather-Fetish, Swing, and Polyamory Communities. We pursue our vision through direct services, education, advocacy, and outreach, in conjunction with our partners, to directly benefit these communities.

Sexual Freedom Legal Defense and Education Fund

Polyamory, swinging, BDSM and fetishism are among the kinds of sexual and lifestyle choices which may expose adherents to legal problems. We believe that the government should not interfere with consensual sexual expression among adults. We believe that parents should not lose custody of their children just because of the parents’ lifestyle or variety of sexual expression. We believe that people should not face criminal prosecution for consensual sexual acts among competent adults.

Because we believe these things, we are working to provide:

  • Money towards legal and litigation expenses, such as attorney fees and expert witness fees.
  • Referrals to attorneys and expert witnesses knowledgeable about alternative sexual expression and willing to take cases dealing with it.
  • Public information and education about alternative sexual expression.
